Abstract

The present study synthesized and administered a systematic review of various empirical research works that explore the impact of transformational leadership (TL) on employee creativity (EC) following Torraco’s manual. Twenty-eight (28) studies were found suitable and have been selected for the review. Whereas most of these studies could be found to support the association between TL and EC, a few have also argued for a negative, non-significant, or no relationship between them. Some studies have identified the key role of contextual variables in affecting the relationship between the two. Moreover, this study has brought to light the differences in the quantum of research work being done on the development of measurement instruments concerning TL and EC. Implications for both research and practice are discussed.
