Teaching Strategies Used in Multicultural Classrooms
Abstract
The study aims to contribute to understanding teaching strategies used in multicultural classrooms. Different teaching strategies are used by the teachers in the classroom for effective teaching. This study, specifically, aims to understand the teaching strategies used by teachers in multicultural classrooms. Systematic literature review was adopted as a research methodology for effective teaching. Researchers followed the PRISMA model to conduct the systematic literature review. The selection of articles was carried out vigorously through six stages. Finally, twenty-one articles were shortlisted out of 407 articles collected from the three databases (Scopus, Taylor & Francis, and Springer). Analysis of the study found that group work, bilingualism, and everyday language, seating arrangement, empathy, communication, diverse assessment, and experiential learning were the teaching strategies popularly used in multicultural classrooms.
