Cultivating Excelencia
Abstract
The purpose of this study centered on conducting a cross-sectional quantitative analysis to understand how Title V grant funding and the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) designation correlate with the success rate of online Hispanic students within four-year, private Christian universities. The study focuses on designated universities that accommodate undergraduate and graduate online learners. The higher education landscape is transforming, marked by the rapid expansion of the online Hispanic student demographic within various institutions. Therefore, this study’s core focus is to help private Christian universities and stakeholders better understand how to mitigate disparities in educational outcomes among online Hispanic students through data-driven evidence. The conceptual framework is based on the highly coveted Excelencia in Education designation, underscoring the importance of evidence-based practices in empowering Latino student achievement in HSIs. The study examined the implementation and impact of Title V federally funded programs tailored to enhance online academic success and experiences for Hispanic students’ educational outcomes.
