ESSENCIAL UPDATE #1 

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are available for anyone to enroll. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance our career and deliver quality educational experiences. Teachers or students can improve their skills and provide well prepared lectures. This is a growing trend among students, however the downside to this is that if you experience a question or if your are not sure what or how to do it, students might get side tracked or even drop what they are doing and then to complete it, they will just turn it in without the proper input or aim that it had. After reading and emphasizing on the concept of Ubiquitous learning environments, from my point of view, the concept allows us to prepare our students to a learning experience that they can relate to by selecting different methods, rather than just stick with an specific one, because from my experience, students moods vary depending directly on the school calendar, they just might be tired or drained after evaluations or exams and all they want to do is something that doesn´t require strict methods such as flipped classroom, where students are responsible for their learning. However, not all the time we can use the internet or technology, since not all school provide that facility or assistance. We are lucky when the WI-fi works well, but on those days where technological advances fail us, then we have to go back to the traditional classroom lectures or engage in a different activity. It would work out well if we have all equipment so that our class can run smoothly. When we have these varieties of suggestions or by implementing these ideas to our students learning environment, they engage in what they believe is interesting or what has caught their attention. Associated technologies, various learning scenarios support the fact that the immersion of formal and informal activities and interactions has the potential to contribute to the learning process. With this particular focus on adaptivity for individual learners or groups we can achieve better learning results, and I think that the reason behind is because they are already familiar with technology, so guiding them through something they feel at power at, they feel more confident and believe that they can achieve on what ever the teacher is setting them for. In the mean time when they participate in collaborative workspaces, our students become mentors and with all these in considerations they can boost their knowledge and also transmit it to the rest of the group.
