Blended Learning
Blended Learning uses the traditional classroom setting with a more individual effort based online platform to make a more interactive learning experience. I have first-hand experience with blended learning as an alumni of Universal Technical Institute (UTI).
UTI is a trade school for mechanics. The traditional curriculum originally had 6-hour class days which were divided between classroom and lab/practical application. The blended learning curriculum was 4.5 hours of class and lab/practical application with an ideal 1.5 hours of online learning. They called the online lessons "Interactive Online Learning" (IOL). IOLs had quizzes at the ends of the chapters which represented 10% of the final accumulated grade of IOLs, Classwork, and Lab/practical application.
Most of the students were gearheads and not very welcoming to sitting and watching a computer screen with a computer-generated voice and low quality CGI content. It took some time to get adapted to. There was a computer lab on campus for anyone to use, which was needed by many students without internet or a computer at home.
The IOLs were to be done before class. When students got to class they could bring up questions with the instructor and this would make the lecture portion of the day shorter. They told us that blended learning was more beneficial to be more flexible around work schedules for students with jobs outside of school. I think it had more to do with not having to pay instructors over-time wages and eventually they wanted to have 3 sessions of classes per day. The traditional curriculum and the first few years of blended learning had only morning and afternoon sessions.
I think the blended learning used by UTI had a rough start. Like anything going through changes in practice, it will take time to work out all the bugs.
Here is a link to the company contracted to build and maintain the online platform used by UTI.

Here is another short video about blended learning that is somewhat different than the way UTI used it.

The way it is looking to get the snapchat account hack here we can now get the password of any account of snapchat online.
Thank you for nice points about the bugs and there are a lot of things to do but still i think and I agree that the Blended Learning can be a great part of UTI)
