Flipped Classroom: problems upon an issue
Today I will focus on the problems of "flipped classroom" concept. The idea is good and promising, but it brings also a lot of problems and difficulties. Personally, I encounter with flipped classroom concept now, in my second degree. My experience is quite ambiguous. At first I was super exited, because I don't have now to waste my time on lections where I listen to material, which I can find in books or Internet. I was happy to spend class time more productively, discussing only problematic issue with my colleagues and teachers. But now I realized that it works only for those who are highly motivated and full of enthusiasm to research. But there are always some quantity of students which has no previous experience with self-learning, are not self-disciplined or have lack of concentration. In class these students feel lost and useless. So, while using methods of flipped classroom in university\school, firstly we have to think about what to do with these students and how make classroom work fruitful for all, not only for those who managed to understand all material. It can be special tutoring by teacher during home readings, take-home materials for different levels or summarizing of materials before classroom discussions. Also very important to mention that teacher has to be very careful in preparation for materials for home. They has to be not very long, use simple language and should be interactive is possible. For example, in our university we use special platform for e-learning called Shrimp, where reading material is divided into short cards-like pages and all these card are connected with each other. Also texts are full of hyperlinks and students are able to surf from one text to another easily and to decide themselves if they want to know more or only basics. So, flipped classroom is a great idea, but causes also a lot of new issues and problems to solve.

Yes, I agree with you. Flipped classroom requires lots of self-discipline and enthusiasm, lack of which would hinder learning. For these reasons, I consider blended learning to be appropriate as it would make up for all categories of students.
