Abstract

Architectural Education plays a fundamental role in training future building designers. Currently buildings consume approximately 50 percent of the Worlds resources. To reduce this demand, the role of sustainable education needs to be examined. This paper aims at displaying current Sustainable Architecture Education in Kuwait University, reflecting on the expected role of the society in achieving Sustainable Development and redirecting the educational process. It begins with examining the curriculum of Kuwait University in terms of building the undergraduates sustainable awareness. Then it will display the results of surveying current environmental awareness of the Kuwaiti society. And finally it will provide recommendations around ways of developing Kuwait University curriculum and environmental awareness of the society.
