Modern Digital Design
Abstract
The subject of research is the modern digital design paradigm. The purpose of the work is to study modern design under the influence of scientific, technical, and technological progress and its refraction in the light of current global trends in digital and industrial technologies of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. The article attempts to demonstrate that the evolution of the concept of “digital design” reflects the development of public ideas about design activities, in general; demonstrates the level of artistic, cultural, technical, and technological development of society; identifies the features of value guidelines and design culture of society, including the tools of design means, techniques, and methods; and also indicates an expansion of the subject and time boundaries of design. The digital revolution in design alters the production and consumption of design goods. The social duty of a digital designer stems from a desire to contribute to the building of a better society, but consumers are becoming more involved in the process thanks to AR, VR, and MR technologies.
