Introduction: Digital Health in a Post-COVID Age
Abstract
While healthcare providers and health institutions have been traditionally very slow to move toward providing digital health services, the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the process. Digital services vary from very basic digital tools to more sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI). Digital health services can provide great opportunities to democratize healthcare provision across the globe, but at the same time, they can exclude the most vulnerable in society. Therefore, while some of the articles in this special issue are very upbeat about the potential of digital health devices and systems, the challenges of the digitalization process will also be considered. The articles also offer innovative analysis on proactive health policies and practices in the context of digital transformation.
