Abstract
Place attachment results from people’s connection with their surrounding environment and is created by people staying and living there. Neighborhood centers are considered the most prominent part of neighborhoods and play a significant role in keeping them alive. It is the historical core of the city of Qom, and it is facing issues such as the decline of social relations and security due to the decrease in presence, the loss of spatial integrity, and the decrease in place attachment. This research measures the impact of various factors on the promotion of residents’ place attachment. In this regard, to collect information from library documents and sources, questionnaires, interviews, and field observations, and for data analysis, SPSS24 software has been used. In order to measure the variables in the questionnaire, a five-point Likert scale was used. The size of the statistical population, including all users of the range and sample size, was calculated using Cochran’s formula at the confidence level of 95 percent, considering p = q = 0.5 and considering the error d = 0.1, and convenience sampling was used for sampling. Also, the exploratory factor analysis method was used to analyze and determine the effective factors for promoting place attachment. Among the factors obtained from 171 distributed questionnaires, the physical–visual factor with indicators such as architectural features, visual signs, and materials greatly influences the attachment to the center of the studied neighborhood.
