Abstract
This study investigates the role of management in the crisis resolution of energy supply companies in the Colombian Caribbean region. Amid a global energy crisis, the effectiveness of crisis management strategies in these companies is of paramount importance. The research examines the relationship between the perceived severity of the crisis among different roles within the organization and the effectiveness of the management’s response strategies. Thirty participants, including managers, department heads, and frontline staff from various energy supply companies in the region, took part in the study. The data collected provided comprehensive insights into the participants’ demographic details, professional standing, and perception of the crisis. The study utilized descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and chi-square tests to analyze the data. The results revealed a moderate positive correlation between the perceived severity of the crisis and the effectiveness of the proposed strategies, validating the research hypothesis. Moreover, the chi-square test results showed that the composition of the groups impacted the effectiveness of the strategies. The study holds significant implications for improving management practices within energy supply companies and contributes valuable knowledge to the field of crisis management.
