Interaction of transformative/reflexive, authentic/synthetic, and didactic/mimetic pedagogy.
The interaction of transformative/reflexive, authentic/synthetic, and didactic/mimetic pedagogy provides a multifaceted prism through which to examine educational methods and how they affect student learning. The goal of didactic or mimetic pedagogy is to transfer knowledge by stressing teacher-centered, structured methods that present material in a sequential fashion. With this strategy, memorizing and repetition are emphasized, and pupils frequently participate in rote learning. Although essential for gaining a core understanding, this conventional framework may stifle critical thinking and creativity since it discourages students from challenging or engaging thoroughly with the subject they are taught.
