I often find a number of students as we moved into high level GCSE and IB want you to talk at them so they can take notes. many of these high level students are capable of learning themselves effectively and want you to give them information, they will process it in their own time and ask questions when needed. 

Although I still plan for activities and learning experience there is a want from some students to have this information given to them in an old fashioned way. For some students they feel that this is the best use of their time in the classroom as they are able to make links and connections temsleves.
