TRANSFORMATION IN EDUCATION

As a concurrent student and teacher, what experiences do I have with the recent shifts in the nature of education? It is common knowledge that education has changed over time to reflect shifts in society and technological breakthroughs. The conventional teacher-centered model, which involved teachers imparting knowledge through lectures and rote memorization, was the mainstay of education in the past. To finish the task assigned to it, it makes use of all available learning resources, including books, text books, magazines, and any other print materials. However, there has been a shift toward more participatory and engaging teaching approaches with the rise of contemporary educational philosophies like constructivism and student-centered learning. The instructor alone will no longer be the only one imparting knowledge. However, it reaches a midway point where students can learn through peer learning interactions and assistance. For example, students are now encouraged to actively participate in the learning process through group discussions, projects, and hands-on activities thanks to collaborative learning strategies. Furthermore, teaching methods have been completely transformed by the incorporation of technology in the classroom. These days, educators make use of interactive tools, internet resources, and multimedia materials to improve lesson delivery and meet the needs of different learning styles. In order for us to be prepared, deserving of being global citizens, and culturally competent, we should embrace the changes occurring in our educational system and be more open to adjusting to them.
