Educational Landscape: A Much Needed Change
Among the cited reading materials, what I find appealing is the article about Bill Gates, the owner of Microsoft. The article narrated how Mr. Gates sees the education system and somehow sums up that there is indeed a need for change to competitively employ the future generation. Indeed, this is true. Some of the traditional methods of teaching are no longer adaptive to the emerging 21st-century skills that students should master. Society is dynamically changing so there should also be a direct change in the way learning and assessment are conducted. A traditional learning setup is indeed important but there is a need for consideration that they need to learn how to use the instruments that the society is using which is technology hence why there is a need for change. Incorporating this into the article provided about e-learning, the creation of a progressive and feedback-friendly learning setup is important to challenge and teach the future generation of technological fluency or at least the fundamental elements of how to operate one so that they will be able to use it when they enter the workforce. As we adapt and employ varied teaching modalities, the content of the curriculum could also be revisited and revised if deemed necessary.
