Abstract

La literatura de la Beat Generation tuvo un papel central en los cambios que se produjeron entre el pensamiento de posguerra y la filosofía de la libertad que irrumpiría dos décadas más tarde con el movimiento hippie, el feminismo de la segunda ola, la psicodelia, la revolución estudiantil y los disturbios de Stonewall. Los escritos de esta generación contienen un enorme valor literario y filosófico por tres puntos principales: su éxito inmediato, el contenido sobre la vida de personas reales y el elevado número de artistas que se verían inspirados por ellos. En este ensayo, partiremos del contexto cultural, histórico y filosófico de la generación para analizarla desde los siguientes temas: la elevación de la locura, el uso de las drogas, una profunda religiosidad, la revolución sexual, el fin de la censura y el arte desde el inconsciente, donde llevaremos a cabo un paralelismo entre la filosofía beat y la técnica psicoanalítica inaugurada por Sigmund Freud. [The literature of the Beat Generation played a central role in the shifts that occurred between postwar thought and the philosophy of freedom that would emerge two decades later with the hippie movement, second-wave feminism, psychedelia, the student revolution, and the Stonewall riots. The writings of this generation hold immense literary and philosophical value for three main reasons: their immediate success, their content centered on the lives of real people, and the significant number of artists they inspired. This essay begins with the cultural, historical, and philosophical context of the generation, analyzing it through the elevation of madness, the use of drugs, a profound religiosity, the sexual revolution, the end of censorship, and art from the unconscious. A parallel will also be drawn between Beat philosophy and the psychoanalytic technique pioneered by Sigmund Freud].
