Shantell Strickland-Davis’s Updates
Essential Update #1 - Mobilizing Just in Time Training
The ubiquitous learning concept I would like to introduce is mobilized just in time or on the job training devices. I could imagine mobile devices being used primarily for training and development being how connected we are today. Essentially, the device would only have apps related to training or education on specific job duties or tasks of the individual. For example, a factory worker may have apps for running specific machines or documenting hours. A teacher may have apps for how to handle classroom disruptions or taking online attendance. The device would serve the purpose of providing support for a work "just in time" and "on the job". No need to go and sit in a traditional training class where most likely you will forget the information or not use it until its really needed. This kind of employee performance support would empower the employee to be self-sufficient and confident that they were completing their responsibilities as intended.
Yes, this could be a big time saver as well as keep work flow moving and focused on immediate needs.
