Update 3 - Peer Explaining Method
According to Piaget, Constructivism learning occurs “through processes of assimilation, in which you make the things you experience in the material or social world fit into your existing mental framework, and through accommodation in which your rational world takes shape in response to the things you experience.” The constructivist approach to learning can really relate and share some of the same learning qualities as the peer learning method because they share some the same qualities regarding critical thinking, cooperative learning, and problem-solving.
The peer explaining method plays a vital role when talking about learning and processing information. Peer explaining method allows people to interpret information the best way that they understand. Explain their understanding to each other, ultimately help them to process and gain information about the topic. It is important because it helps and allows each person to share knowledge and gain a better understanding. The learning that is conducted from each person is not independent. Peer learning also helps get their viewpoint and learn about the different ideas and experience that help them shape their responses to the topic. To conduct and learn about the influence of peer explain method one must be willing to participate and offer ideas. If both people are not involved, it takes away from peer learning because peer learning really depends on each participation. It important that participants are involved. Comfortability and communication both play a vital role in the success of a person that uses peer learning because the can be open and share information on the topic of discussion. Individuals that participate in peer learning, learn the ideas that they are teaching and get exposed to new information. In peer explaining there is no right or wrong, most important thing is to informatively interact. This is beneficial because students feel comfortable talking and process the information because they know that they are not being penalized for the type of response that they give. An advantage of peer learning method is that it helps students to develop different learning skills in organizing and planning. Peers learning teaches students how to work with others and communicate effectively without cause conflict. One thing that I personally find it unique how people could learn by evaluating their own learning. It is important that students integrate critical thinking, problem solving and cooperative learning.
