Ubiquitous Learning and Instructional Technologies MOOC’s Updates
"Parse" is an educational game that typically focuses on language and literacy development.
Parse is an education game that tends to revolve around the development of language and literacy, usually designed for a classroom or museum experience. This is how it supports the learning process:
Step 2: Practice Language Games — These are games that players can use to practice their language skills, including sentence building and vocabulary matching or top-quality grammar exercises. The audiovisual media boost students ability to practice and improve their language, in an interaction format very fun
Immediate Feedback — Players get feedback in real time as they play the game. This aids in recognition of weaknesses by the learners and strengthens proper understanding, thereby making learning adaptive.
Gamified Challenges: The game uses challenges and levels to keep students moving forward. Providing goals which are easy to accomplish pushes the learner forward and gives him/her reasons for keeping on going on their proficiency.
Integrating fun game activities ignites students to be more engaged and motivated through points, badges or new levels.
Collaborative learning: If "Parse" were to be placed in a museum setting, it could include collaborative features that allow players to work together and solve language puzzles or complete challenges. 2) This builds teamwork & EBC/Comm. Skills — by having collective ownership, powerschool is no longer the single point of contact for a particular product(area).
Cultural Content: this is where using Language Learning Through Games can really be useful — the game could contain historical artifacts/material related to what you would find in a museum, therefore students have chance not only of developing language skills but also researching cultural and historic contexts.
Critical Thinking and Creativity: Players must think critically to solve problem or complete tasks within the game which can amplify that Analysis ability of users creating a spark of creativity.
Educators can incorporate 'Parse' into classrooms or museums to provide children a more dynamic context in which to learn language skills that are captivating and motivating.
Wow! As a former CLDE teacher (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education) this would be such a neat tool to make the learning more interactive between peers. The gamification is also a really great way to build enthusiasm around learning and build retention of course materials. I also like the immediate feedback component to strengthen understanding.
This project idea on computer-mediated learning environments is highly relevant and aligns with current trends in education
