The Strength of Weak Ties in International Politics

Abstract

Social network analysis can be a tool for linking the micro and macro levels in sociological theory, which can also be important for political scientists, especially for international relations experts specializing in international conflicts. According to the theory, two people’s friendship networks are more likely to match each other based on the strength of their ties to each other. The impact of the strength of the connection is studied on the principle of influence and information diffusion, the possibility of mobility and the organization of society. What is emphasized is the cohesive force of weak ties.
