For this assignment I thought it would be perfect to talk about an incident that happened to my boyfriend while I was next to him. He was playing Call of Duty on his PlayStation earlier today while I focused on doing some of my homework. I'm sure a lot of you know that you could play online with other people or your team or against you. You pretty much go around killing the other opponents and compete to complete different objectives before they kill you. My boyfriend decided to tea-bag an opponent and of course was super happy about it not thinking anything bad about it obviously. After he did that, the opponent starting cussing and saying some racial comments because the opponent he was playing was a woman and the husband got mad that she got tea-bagged. They started telling my boyfriend that he needed to go get a life instead of playing video games, considering that they sounded like an older couple. Point was that I have never witnessed something like that ever in my life, and did not find it necessary for all those mean comments over a video game. Some people get too caught up in a moment that they don't stop and think about what comes out of their mouth just because they are mad or angry. Like the article Online Gaming claims, many parents would be astonished (just like I was) about some of the comments that could be made while playing video games and that game makers seek to limit the amount of hate speech. Video games should be a form of entertainment, not a way to express sexual or racial harassment to your opponents.
