I joined the Humanitarian Leadership Academy - Philippines Academy Centre seven months ago. Two years before that I worked in a Cambodia-based organisation working on peace and conflict transformation in Asia. That was a new experience working on a new ground, linking with organisations that I haven't dealt with before, living far from home and stationed in one country . It was something that was very different from what I have been doing for the past fifteen years---flying around Asia like crazy, meeting people and organisations most of whom you know or you are familiar with because you are working on the same issue---child trafficking and migration; facing the same challenges and celebrating successes together. But still I left Cambodia, feeling I can do more and this time not in any country, not in the region but in the Philippines, my home.
