1. A stereotype is a preconceived image or idea, usually a simplification, of what or how a particular person or thing is or should be. 

2. A single story is single-dimensional and can lead to misconceptions and create misunderstandings between people as was pointed out in Adichie's video.

3. 1.Our stereotypes are part of the environment we were brought up in and are part of the way we are thinking. They surface unconsciously when the occasion calls for it and they accompany us in our judjment of others. What is important is whether we adhere to them or keep an open mind in our everyday interpersonal communications.

3. 2. The interlocutors in the last set of pictures obviously lack intercultural awareness and the application of stereotypes causes this serious breakdown in communication.

4. When it comes to teacher-student relationship, we should be very careful not to resort to preconceptions or stereotypes as we won't be able to actually listen to what our students have to say. To truly engage students, we must reach out to them in ways that are culturally and linguistically responsive and appropriate, and we must examine the cultural assumptions and stereotypes we bring into the classroom that may hinder interconnectedness. An open mind and willingness to establish a good rapport with our students are of primary importance.
