  I have extensive practical and applied research experience in the field of gender and development. My areas of expertise include women, peace and security, gender and international aid. I have 15 years of professional experience working in different roles on gender projects funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Government of Australia). Prior to joining CARE Australia, I served as the Civil Society Advisor (ACFID secondee) to the Australian Civil-Military Centre supporting the development of national capabilities to prevent, prepare for and effectively respond to overseas humanitarian crises. I am also on the steering group of the Australian Civil Society Coalition on Women Peace and Security.
