In my work as a professor of English and education at Central Michigan University, I collaborate with K–12 colleagues and explore how they implement newer literacies in their classrooms. I have been using technology to teach various courses on language arts, writing, and digital and media literacy since 1998.

My interest in this particular course centers on the e-learning ecologies concept, and I am thinking about adopting the book for a doctoral seminar that I teach. My hope is that this course will provide a clear and pragmatic overview of the theory.
