Stuart Sim has published widely in the fields of critical theory, philosophy, and literary studies, with special interests in postmodernism, poststructuralism, scepticism, and eighteenth-century literature. A particular concern of his work in recent years has been the application of critical theory to debates in current affairs. Publications include: 'Contemporary Continental Philosophy: The New Scepticism' (2000), 'Fundamentalist World: The New Dark Age of Dogma' (2004), 'The Eighteenth Century Novel and Contemporary Social Issues' (2008), and 'The End of Modernity: What the Financial and Environmental Crisis is Really Telling Us' (2010). His most recent book is '50 Key Postmodern Thinkers'(2013).
