I am Souvik Naha, 23. I graduated from Presidency College, Kolkata, topping my batch among the University of Calcutta students in 2008. Then I went to the Centre for Historical Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, for post-graduation, completing which in 2010 I enrolled for M.Phil. My research is on the 'construction of cricket as a discourse in postcolonial Bengal'. I've presented two papers on cricket so far at seminars, and have written five more on sports so far, four among them on Indian cricket. Two of my most abiding passions are cricket, and by extension all sports, and quizzing. My hobbies include listening to music, writing fiction and collecting old coins. I'm deeply drawn to literature and movies, where my interest extends to their academic discourses as well. Apart from that, I'm inclined to social anthropology, critical theory and media studies.
