Portia Adade Williams is a PhD candidate at the Climate Systems Analysis Group (CSAG) of the Environmental and Geographical Science Department, University of cape Town, South Africa. Ms. Williams is also a Research Scientist with the CSIR-Science and Technology Policy Research Institute, Ghana. Her research interests are into climate, socioecnomic and innovation studies. Her reasearch area is into smallholder agricultural production systems' impact, vulnerability and adaptation to climate variability and change in Africa. She has been involved in climate research projects such as Climate variability impact on pineapple production in Ghana; Climate change as a trigger for innovative practices among smallholder farmers - A comparative study in 8 nations and Sustainable Agricultural Intensification Research and Learning Alliance in Africa among others. Ms Williams is an immediate past fellow of Department for International Developments' (DfID) Climate Impact Research Capacity and Leadership Enhancement (CIRCLE) Programme for Sub Saharan Africa. Mrs. Williams is presently a Fellow of Organization of Women in Science for the developing World (OWSD) PhD Fellowship programme.
