Graduated from Cairo University in 2003 with a BArch. Worked as TA in Cairo University, UC Berkeley, and lectured at Stanford. Worked as a professional architect in the design of several architectural projects across the Middle East; American University in Cairo – New Campus, schools, embassies, & office buildings. Also worked as a General Secretary for a Non-governmental Organization for community development projects focusing on designing through participation in informal housing settlements. Have some publications & papers in different international conferences, IASTE, Journal of Architectural Education & a chapter in an upcoming book “Urban Megaprojects: A Worldview” by the MIT publishing press. Research interest include; History of Architecture and Urbanism, Geo-politics of space, Socio-spatial Constructions of the built-environment, architectural expressions of cultural identity and the architectures of globalization.
