Leslie Paul Thiele teaches political theory and serves as Director of Sustainability Studies at the University of Florida. He employs a cross-disciplinary approach to explore the aptitudes, values, and intellectual perspectives demanded of democratic citizens and leaders in a globalizing world of rapid technological, social, and ecological change.
His research has focused on continental political thought, environmental ethics and politics, and the intersection of political philosophy, psychology, and cultural studies. His most recent books are The Heart of Judgment: Practical Wisdom, Narrative, and Neuroscience (Cambridge 2006) and Indra’s Net and the Midas Touch: Living Sustainably in a Connected World (MIT Press 2011).
