I am the California representative for the Arts Health Early Career Research Network, a global network comprised of researchers from various disciplines who study the intersection of arts and health. I have an M.A. in Arts in Medicine and a B.F.A. in Multimedia Electronic Art. Full--time, I am a senior designer for Age of Learning, Inc., where I am also on a volunteer committee that plans community outreach events (such as mural paintings at local educational facilities). Additionally, I volunteer with local arts in health organizations as an artist in health. As an artist in health, I lead art sessions in a variety of settings. This ranges from doing participatory art activities at a patient's bedside to initiating and leading a digital art workshop with older adults at an independent living facility. I am also a contracted employee with one of those organizations as a tech help facilitator in their computer lab twice a month. Lastly, I am also a research assistant for a PhD student in Malaysia who is developing an arts-based volunteer opportunity for older adults and children in an educational setting. Please feel free to learn more about me at www.katrinaenelson.com.
