Kirsty Robertson has published widely on issues pertinent to this workshop, ranging from a consideration of the role of nationalism in the building of a new War Museum to a reflection on the paradoxical role played by Canadian culture in national self-definitions versus its use as a commodity at international economic negotiations. Her current work uses Canada as case study to focus on the links between arts and culture, the mass protests known as the "anti-globalization" movement, and the emergence of the post-Fordist "creative industries." Robertson has also been teaching classes on Canadian art since 2003, working each year to develop new pedagogical initiatives that unsettle the chronological narrative that tends to define the study of the visual
