  I am Dr. George Uzoaga. I trained as a veterinarian. I engaged in private practice for some years and also participated in several surveys like the DHS before joining public service as a veterinary epidemiologist in Nigeria's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. I have also participated in a number of surveys conducted by the Soceity for Family Health (SFH) and other NGO's as well as London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Considering the preponderance of several preventable communicable diseases in Nigeria especially among infants and children under five years and the low level of vaccination coverage following the low educational level of women coupled with poverty, I deem it worthwhile contributing my own quota towards enhancing vaccine coverage in Nigera and by extension anywhere else duty may call in order to safeguard the health of the most vulnerable groups and to make the world a safer place to live in. Following the above, I have been trained by WHO, UNICEF and NSTOP as a Management Support Team member and have been functioning in that capacity since 2016 supporting several vaccination campaigns in Nigeria to ensure best practices and optimum performance by the vaccination teams. I am happily married and blessed with children.
