  I am a doctoral candidate in Architecture (Building Technology) at the University of Michigan. My doctoral research is about the computational search algorithms in architecture design with a concentration on application of genetic algorithm and Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ). The main goal of my research is developing a computational form exploration method that allows a better problem structuring and helps designers to overcome the trade-off problems when there are some contradictions among the design objectives. Performance-based design, structural analysis, building environmental modeling, object-oriented programming, parametric modeling, design automation, configuration processing of spatial structures using Formex algebra, and interactive multi-objective optimization are my fields of interests where I have a strong background. I have a two-year university level teaching experience in Iran and three-semester teaching experience at the University of Michigan. Besides, I have been trained as a future faculty at the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT) at the University of Michigan and acquired the Graduate Teaching Certificate. This faculty prepatory program not only taught me how to plan and carry out a course at university level but also made me aware of the most recent achievements in teaching methods in academia and led me study further in the area of architecture pedagogy. I am also a registered architect in Tehran, Iran and am persuing my licensure in North America. My concern about the sustainable design led me to acquire LEED Green Associate certificate. Among my colleagues, my significant strengths are geometrical modeling of any types of spaitial form, object-oriented programming, understanding and analyzing the structural performance of buildings.
