Help with resources for dissertation.
"Hi everyone. I would appreciate your help finding some additional resources for my dissertation. My focus area is online professional development for educators that addresses culturally responsive beliefs, practices or pedagogy. Does anyone know of anything that fits this area? I have done a general search online, but I'm not finding the variety of sources I was hoping to find. Thank you for your help!"
@Lori Hensold,
I have some suggestions to help you find some additional resources for your dissertation on online professional development for educators with a focus on culturally responsive beliefs, practices, or pedagogy.
Here are a few suggestions that might be helpful:
To start, check out some academic databases like ERIC, Education Full Text, and JSTOR. Using keywords like 'online professional development,' 'culturally responsive pedagogy,' and 'culturally responsive practices' can help you narrow down your search and find relevant scholarly articles, research studies, and educational journals.
You should also explore the websites of professional organizations and associations in the field of education, such as the National Education Association (NEA), Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). These organizations often publish research, reports, and resources that specifically focus on professional development and culturally responsive education.
Another idea is to look into research institutes and centers that specialize in education, diversity, or educational technology. Institutions like the Center for Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning, National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment, or the American Institutes for Research might have valuable reports, case studies, and resources related to your research area.
Don't forget to explore literature reviews and meta-analyses that have been conducted on the topic. These comprehensive studies provide an overview of existing research and can help you identify key findings, trends, and gaps in the literature.
Additionally, make sure to check out conference proceedings from relevant education conferences like the American Educational Research Association (AERA) annual meeting or the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference. These proceedings often include research papers and presentations on topics related to online professional development and culturally responsive education.
Lastly, online dissertation databases like ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global can be a goldmine. You might find completed dissertations in your research area or related fields that can provide valuable insights, literature reviews, and references for your work.
Best of luck with your dissertation!

Dr. Darnell Fine should have some past or upcoming online PD on the topic.
@Jessica Jones, thank you. I will follow up with this!
