Healthcare provider diversity still so far behind
I am a healthcare worker / teacher in healthcare and in my particular field we care for very diverse community--economically & ethnically. Unfortunately our providers do not represent the people for whom they care. I have been in the field now > 15years and have seen very little change. It would be such a huge benefit to future providers, learners and especially patients if we could have a more diversity among providers. There are so many barriers but it's so important.
I love that you are a health worker and I see that you really care for very diverse community and It is so important to recognize what are the needs of the people that should our government need to provide in order to address this problem. I really appreciate the thought of having someone there to help or provide learners specially the patients who needed the most. Diversity in education, being able to identify with the work or someone in the field can make all of the difference but on the other hand providers or our stakeholders or our government must do something to help us teachers and health workers or even all the professionals to help us provide what is need to be done.
