Abstract
This paper explores the intersection of AI, photography, and pedagogy, emphasizing the transformative potential of AI as an educational tool. By examining theoretical frameworks such as Lev Manovich’s media theories and Marshall McLuhan’s technological determinism, it situates AI within a broader historical and cultural context. The study delves into practical applications of AI in educational practices, particularly in the visual arts, focusing on automated feedback and creative support in photography. It also examines advancements in AI-driven generative tools and their impact on visual storytelling and learning. Finally, the paper addresses ethical considerations, including the democratization of knowledge and the potential risks of AI, such as creativity reduction and perpetuation of biases. The findings highlight AI’s dual role as a tool for innovation and a subject for critical examination in shaping future educational paradigms.
