Abstract
This research examines climate change mitigation strategies in the Tampa Bay area, focusing on the heightened vulnerabilities of marginalized communities to climate impacts, particularly from hurricanes and sea-level rise. A literature review was conducted to gather previously published insights on communication outreach and underdevelopment challenges in Tampa Bay. Building on this foundation, surveys were designed to explore respondents’ experiences with communication outreach strategies and individual demographics. These findings were then analyzed, and notable patterns were visually presented in a poster format. Through this research unique challenges that marginalized communities faced, in regard to communication outreach were uncovered. By analyzing current communication approaches and survey findings, this research identifies critical gaps that hinder information dissemination and delay interventions. suggesting the need for tailored communication strategies that address the specific needs of these groups to enhance community resilience. These insights underscore the importance of further research to develop more inclusive outreach methods that support resiliency in communities surrounding the Tampa Bay area.
