Abstract
Guiguinto is considered as one of the places with high elevation in Bulacan and flooding was not initially a problem, however, recent changes in climate have led to flooding in some parts of the town. The aim of the study was to assess the resiliency of Guiguinto, Bulacan in flooding in terms of existing drainage system, ecosystem, developments, and nearby towns. This assessment was done through a computer simulation using current climate data, and the results were evaluated. Results show that nearby towns have a significant effect in flooding, affecting the points of outflow, the effectiveness of the drainage system, and the overall development within the area. Flooding, being a natural phenomenon, can severely impact the economic growth of the town. This includes disruptions in transportation, property damage, loss of commodities, and the health conditions of the community.
