Navigating Mental Health from the Aftermath of the Pandemic

Abstract

This training reviews how mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. The pandemic has caused increased rates of mental health problems, individuals who experienced those problems, are impacted emotionally, psychologically, and impacts their social well-being. Depression, poverty, and trauma is connected to mental health. If individuals are not provided with support and resources, it can lead to suicidal behavior. Professionals must operate from a therapeutic and not punitive perspective, if not addressed appropriately it becomes problematic.
