Pre-Conference Tour: Museo Pachacamac - 21 June 2026

US$55

Join the other delegates and plenary speakers on a guided tour of the Museum Pachacámac.

On this tour, we will travel back in time to one of the most important archaeological sites on the Peruvian coast. For over a thousand years, this was a sacred city and an important peregrination center for various cultures, including the Lima and Inca cultures. We will explore impressive adobe pyramids, structures that tell us about ancient engineering and beliefs. We will climb the Temple of the Sun, a structure built by the Incas with incredible views of the valley and the ocean. We will also visit the Temple of the Moon, where the “chosen women” lived, dedicated to worship and textile making. You will have a deeper understanding of the Andean worldview and how religion shaped life here. You will learn about the cultures that built this complex and how Pachacámac became a famous oracle. The importance of this site resides in its history. It shows us how ancient societies were organized and how they connected through faith and trade. It is a powerful testament to the rich history of the central Peruvian coast.
