Abstract
The work of the Portuguese visual artist João Vieira constitutes a fundamental contribution to typographic design in the field of visual arts in Portugal and, as a consequence, an exploration of his approach of markedly sacred contours reveals some facets of Vieira and the nature of his work that are still to be analyzed, almost fifty years after the first manifestations.
