Abstract
In this paper, I show examples of digital editions of medieval manuscripts developed at the university of Bern over the last two decades. The examples refer (1) to a complete new edition of the ‘Parzival’-romance, written by the German author Wolfram von Eschenbach around 1200 (2) to the reconstruction of the library collected by the early humanist Sigmund Gossembrot in the 15th century, and (3) to the manuscripts written by his coeval, the so-called ‘Wellcome Scribe’, in Thuringia, containing numerous text-image-ensembles. The talk will be introduced by methodological reflections on what digital editions of manuscripts can provide today.
