A Comprehensive View Into Employee Competencies and Its Value in Human Resources Management Practices : A Literature Synthesis

Abstract

Hiring, maintaining, and developing an efficient workforce is necessary to maintain the organization’s competitive edge in today’s labor market. For this, competency-based systems offer the opportunity for enhancing employees performance and quality of training programs, performance evaluation systems, and overall human resources management practices. Organizations should prepare their employees for the challenges experienced in today’s labor market by providing the essential knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies to be successful employees. Leaders are encouraged to demonstrate how employees are mastering their competencies and becoming a well-equipped workforce to make the organization, labor market, and world a better place.
