Abstract
Neurodiversity is a natural part of the human experience, and education should empower every student to thrive. This workshop will delve into the transformative potential of assistive technology (AT) and artificial intelligence (AI) to create truly inclusive and high-impact learning environments. We’ll explore a range of AT tools, from established platforms like Lexia and MAP to emerging innovations like “Writing Our World”, examining how they can personalize learning experiences for neurodiverse students. We’ll also discuss the evolving role of AI in providing scaffolding and support, from basic features like spell check to advanced capabilities like large language models. Join us to discover how AT and AI can level the playing field, unlock student potential, and reshape education to be more equitable and impactful for all learners.
