Professional Development and Teacher Education: University Lecturers' Training on Technological Usage for Classroom Instruction

Abstract

The world is becoming a global village because of the advancement in technology, particularly the Internet. There is an urgent need in developing innovative practices and setting a renewed agenda in the education system. This study investigates the relationship that exists between professional development, teacher education and university lecturers’ training on technological usage for classroom instruction in Cross River State. To guide the study, two research questions are raised and two hypotheses are formulated. Ex-post factor design was adopted. The sample is drawn from the population using a sample technique. Data was collected using the researcher’s constructed questionnaire items. A reliability test was conducted using Cronbach Alpha Reliability estimate. Data collected is be analyzed using statistical analysis. Results and conclusions are discussed.
