Humanities in Global Challenges

Abstract

Amid pressing global issues like climate change, social inequality, and cultural divides, Humanities provide essential insights and solutions. This paper examines how humanities-driven approaches tackle these challenges, focusing on three key areas: intersections, innovations, and impact. By exploring the intersections of the humanities with STEM, social sciences, and community initiatives, this study underscores the potential for interdisciplinary, human-centered responses alongside scientific and technical strategies. It also highlights pioneering humanities-based projects that advance social justice, environmental sustainability, and cultural cohesion, showcasing how the humanities contribute creatively to global problem-solving. Furthermore, this paper evaluates the real-world impact of humanities approaches on policy, social practices, and public dialogue, demonstrating their role in shaping policies, strengthening community resilience, and fostering public engagement with complex issues. Drawing on case studies, theoretical perspectives, and collaborative models, this study illustrates the humanities’ capacity to build empathy, guide evidence-based policy, and drive innovative solutions. By highlighting these contributions, the paper seeks to challenge perceptions of the humanities’ relevance, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and inspire future generations to lead humanities-centered change.
