Abstract
This study focuses on the portrayal of identities that go beyond the traditional binary male-female identities in the Spanish language media. We present an overview of the current landscape, highlighting both challenges and opportunities for inclusive representation. Examining existing portrayals and their impact, we explore how media attempts to challenge gender norms and promote inclusive representation. We also analyze the evolution of direct and indirect non-binary language in Spanish, and how it has permeated through the Spanish language media. Our goal is to deepen understanding of non-binary representation in Spanish media and inspire positive change towards more inclusive narratives.
