This paper outlines the fundamentals of critical control management which include a more stringent, frontline-focused definition for control, guidance on producing quality bowtie analysis, criteria for selecting controls that are critical for preventing and mitigating serious unwanted events and details associated with verifying control performance. Control monitoring and verifications options include manual and/or AI enabled processes. The study concludes by discussing considerations associated with each which covers their ability to produce meaningful intelligence that helps organisations attain and sustain leading practice.
