Abstract
This study examines the impact of road elevation as a solution to flooding in Poblacion 1, Marilao, Bulacan. The research assesses how the road elevation project contributes to improving the safety and quality of life of local residents. Using a descriptive research design, individual interviews and focus group discussions were conducted to gather residents’ perspectives on the project’s effects. The findings indicate that road elevation significantly reduced flooding incidents and enhanced the safety and livelihood of the community. However, the study also found that road elevation is only part of the solution and must be complemented by improvements to the drainage system and ongoing infrastructure maintenance. The study recommends continuing efforts to address flooding, including strengthening local policies and strategies for environmental management and infrastructure development.
